After about two weeks two of the outlets just stopped working. Completely offline. I tried to reset and re-install. One worked, the other didnt. Emailed the company. They did email me back and asked for additional information. I replied to their email, but it bounced back, numerous times. I then tried submitting a new claim through their web site with no response. Bad service and apparently not a very good product. Would not buy again. Update: The company did finally get back to me (from my re-submittal to their web site). To their credit, they did send me a replacement outlet. But since then, things have been bizarre. Support has emailed me several times, but every time I try to reply to the support email, it continues to bounce back. First they contacted me asking for me to send them the MAC address of the defective device. Since the MAC address isnt written on the device, the only want to know it is to view the information when connected to a network. Considering that my complaint was that the device fell offline and wouldnt connect to the network, there would be no way to do this. Honestly, it felt like a test to see if I was trying to scam them. Later they asked me to send the defective device back to them and they would reimburse me for shipping. I replied to their email and indicated Id be happy to send it back if they send me a pre-paid shipping label. Of course that email bounced back. There are several things wrong with this. First, Ive never heard of a company offering to reimburse for shipping. Reputable companies who want their product back pre-pay shipping. Secondly, since I apparently have no way to contact them, even if I trusted that Id be reimbursed (which I dont), I have no way to contact them with the reimbursement amount since their email doesnt appear to work. That happened a few weeks ago. This morning I received another email, asking me to send the device back and they would reimburse my Payal. I bought these throgh Amazon, not Paypal, so they dont have my PayPal info, nor is there any way to get it to them. To top things off, another outlet failed after lasting about an hour. It just randomly fell offline. Another thing Ive noticed is that with about half of the devices, if youre using an apple device (iPhone, iPad) to set it up, even if you selected the non Homekit option, you still have to use Homekit, even if you just want to control the device through the Meross app or one of the other supposedly supported apps (like Smarthings). Im not going to even bother trying to replace this new defective device. Its just not worth the hassle and the harassment from this really strange company.

At times when theres software upgrade on the Smart Plug I found some delay in synching with iPhone. Other than that works smoothly. Will definitely recommend the product.

These are unreliable. My router supports only 2.4GHZ so cross-band issues are not a factor. I eventually got them all setup on Homekit. Most took more than one try. The code being attached to the plug is a hassle as you have to keep unplugging them when it doesnt work so you can rescan or read the code. It would have been nice to have had a card that lists the codes/numbers with a space for you to write where you have located each one. It would be nice if HomeKit would remember the number even if the process wasnt completed. I found the installation process worked best when you manually entered the numbers. Most of the time when I checked the status in HomeKit , all four would say Not Responding. It seems to me if one or two of them didnt work, you could write it off to a defective unit or a poor wifi signal, but all four? Perhaps being cheaper they are extra sensitive to wifi signal degradation. I have had ipads and iphones on my network for long periods of time without problems and they work all over the house, so why is it so hard to keep these on the network? I finally uninstalled them all because I got tired of crawling under the desk or moving a bookcase to turn on a light. I decided to try again with one device. I plugged it in next to the router. It seemed to be more reliable but still it said Not responding now and then. I would click on it and it worked. I tried turning it on with Siri and she gave me the Not Responding message. I am sitting in the next room with my iphone and IPAD and both are still connected, so I guess as long as I install all four devices next to the router and dont use voice commands, Im all set. I did get a firmware upgrade to work. Homekit will notify you and then you can go into the Meross app and update them. That part worked perfectly, but nothing changed. One problem in this old house is that most of my outlets are in the baseboard and they are installed horizontally. Some of them are installed upside down which means accessing the button is difficult, especially if it is behind furniture. I have learned a lot during this process-- mostly about what doesnt work. I wont be using these again, but I will try other brands. I will especially look for brands with the button on the front as opposed to the top or side as that will be the easiest to use. The price was great, so I hoped these would work, because I wanted to buy a bunch of them, but Ill be sending these back as I dont have a big need for controlling devices next to my router.

Ive tried this switch and a competitors. This one was always easy to use with Homekit. Always responded showing its status and switching on request. The competitors usualy was not responding. Maybe the competitor may improve when they update the firmware, but by now I would recommend Meross to be sure it will work properly.

I have a new Orbi mesh router with strong Wi-Fi coverage but these plugs don’t stay connected. I have to unplug and plug them back at least once a week. A firmware update has fixes the issues.

These are way easier to set up than I thought. All you have to do is scan the QR code and you’re ready to go!

I bought those outlets because it says that it is compatible with Apple Homekit. I thought it will be integrated into the Apple system as smoothly as all my Apple products, but I am wrong. There is a lot of frustration when installing the outlets. I have to reset two of them multiple times to add them to Apple Home. It took me almost an hour to eventually add all four outlets to Apple Home. (Connecting to its own app is smooth though.) For now, the outlets are working as expected. They are also compact. So I am still giving out four stars even after the frustrating installation.
