After struggling with a set from Kasa, these are working perfectly. I added them to the Apple Home app using the QR codes on each plug, no need to install a 3rd party app. I just works, I added them to my HomeKit automations in just a few minutes and I was all set.

How smart is it? When used with Apple Home Kit not really that smart. The outlets require standalone software/app (Meross)to operate which can then be used to integrate with Apple Home Kit. Not as easy as advertised.

Getting them added to HomeKit and updated to the latest firmware is enough to make you rage and want to return them. 2 hours later, they’re finally working. I work in IoT device industry and even I was having a hard time.

Owned these for a year. When they work, they’re great. But most of the time, they’re a headache. Getting them setup is a pain. It’s honestly a game of luck if they will connect or not. They are very picky about whether they will connect to your router. We switched routers twice this year, and they were not compatible with the new router for some unknown reason (?). The reason I got rid of these is because we switched to TMobile 5G internet. If you make the switch too, do NOT buy these plugs! They will not work with TMobile 5G for some reason. I got the new Wemo Thread-based plugs that do not use WiFi and they have been flawless. Spend the extra money to get the new Thread technology, especially if you have TMobile 5G.

These are definitely the best HomeKit smart plugs I’ve used very reliable small enough to fit two in one outlet stacked one on top of the other some of the other smart plugs I’ve used partially block the second plug I would definitely recommend these plugs for the price point and the easy set up meross has a lot of great products that I’ve been using( light bulbs, smart garage door opener in wall smart switches ) and will continue to add more If you have a 5 hertz and 2.4 hertz dual band for me the trick that I’ve found was go to the furthest outlet away from your wireless router and do the set up this will initiate your 2.4 Hz band and lock that in. it seemed to me anytime I hooked up a smart product next to my router it would key into the 5 GHz and I would lose connection periodically so I found the furthest away from the router the better for initial set up with HomeKit and other 2.4 only smart products these plugs I have had no issues on HomeKit with the (red)not response logo in HomeKit And when I have to reboot my router they reconnect automatically with no problem

Ordered these to control some indoor Christmas lights. I was excited about them until a coworker told me he had had many issues with them disconnecting from the WiFi and you had to unplug/replug them ever few days. Sure enough, this started happening to me within the first few days. However, I noticed there was a firmware update that needed installing. Once I installed that, everything worked perfectly and we never lost wifi signal again. I told my coworker and he updated his, and although he was skeptical and said he had already been through several firmware updates that never fixed the problem, a few days later he admitted that things now seemed fine on his end too. So now that the firmware is taken care of these seem to work great. If you have issues, make sure you update the firmware via the app.

Disappointed. It is advertised as works with HomeKit and Hub not needed, but those are inclusive. That is simply for turning it off and on. In order to program/automate through HomeKit a HomeKit Hub (Like AppleTV or HomePod) IS required. You used to also be able to use an iPad as a hub, but that is no longer supported by Apple either in the latest update (16.2). You can use the Meross app without a hub for automation, but that isnt HomeKit.

After about two weeks two of the outlets just stopped working. Completely offline. I tried to reset and re-install. One worked, the other didnt. Emailed the company. They did email me back and asked for additional information. I replied to their email, but it bounced back, numerous times. I then tried submitting a new claim through their web site with no response. Bad service and apparently not a very good product. Would not buy again. Update: The company did finally get back to me (from my re-submittal to their web site). To their credit, they did send me a replacement outlet. But since then, things have been bizarre. Support has emailed me several times, but every time I try to reply to the support email, it continues to bounce back. First they contacted me asking for me to send them the MAC address of the defective device. Since the MAC address isnt written on the device, the only want to know it is to view the information when connected to a network. Considering that my complaint was that the device fell offline and wouldnt connect to the network, there would be no way to do this. Honestly, it felt like a test to see if I was trying to scam them. Later they asked me to send the defective device back to them and they would reimburse me for shipping. I replied to their email and indicated Id be happy to send it back if they send me a pre-paid shipping label. Of course that email bounced back. There are several things wrong with this. First, Ive never heard of a company offering to reimburse for shipping. Reputable companies who want their product back pre-pay shipping. Secondly, since I apparently have no way to contact them, even if I trusted that Id be reimbursed (which I dont), I have no way to contact them with the reimbursement amount since their email doesnt appear to work. That happened a few weeks ago. This morning I received another email, asking me to send the device back and they would reimburse my Payal. I bought these throgh Amazon, not Paypal, so they dont have my PayPal info, nor is there any way to get it to them. To top things off, another outlet failed after lasting about an hour. It just randomly fell offline. Another thing Ive noticed is that with about half of the devices, if youre using an apple device (iPhone, iPad) to set it up, even if you selected the non Homekit option, you still have to use Homekit, even if you just want to control the device through the Meross app or one of the other supposedly supported apps (like Smarthings). Im not going to even bother trying to replace this new defective device. Its just not worth the hassle and the harassment from this really strange company.

I liked that these integrated with Apple Home as described, however my WiFi is weak I think as I had to keep devices close to my WiFi transmitter for them to stay working.
