I bought this particular item because I have a MacBook Air that only has 2 connections. Nowhere near enough. I bought an earlier item to hook up my external hard drive and which had adapters for USB, SD cards, and Ethernet. When I needed to hook up something else I got tired of disconnecting something to connect something else. So I had hopes that this unit would daisy-chain to it. And it does perfectly. Im so pleased with it. I use it plugged into the wall, although it works without it. But with several items hooked up and running I figure it will work better with that extra boost. This turned out to be a perfect item for me and I would recommend it to anyone else looking to extend their connections.

Wont work with a HP Envy 17 computer -- may require more power from a USB 3.0 port or a special driver which I cant find. Cant shut down the computer with the device plugged in to one port. Trying to use it with two external disk drives -- one Western Digital Ultra and the other the latest Seagate Drive. One star! Am increasing the rating to 5 stars. Traced the problem to a defective power outlet in my backup power source. The Hub now works as intended. Make sure it has power (charger port red light should be on) before you use it.

This hub worked extremely well for 2 months. Then, after a restart of my Windows 11 laptop, it was no longer recognized.

Overall its a nice product. The material construction is a good quality and I appreciate the non-slip bottom. Its more compact than I imagined which to me is a plus. The only drawback is the shiny accent angle that obscures the on/off indicator lights of each port. Its not a huge issue if you just keep every port on but the viewing angle is a glaring (pun intended) design flaw. Ive looked at the thing from many angles and honestly, the only way to clearly see the lights is to look directly perpendicular to the angle of the viewing pane. I think they could solve this by simply making sure the LEDs punch through to the surface of the plane. Its not a huge problem but its worth mentioning because its somewhat of a funny example of form before function.

This USB Splitter looks modern. I have been used it without any problem over months. Quite smooth. Highly recommend.

Theres not really much to say about it. It does exactly what it needs to do without issue. If you need a USB hub with a powered slot that can each be individually turned on and off I would recommend this.

These are great external ports. I purchased 1 a few months ago and I just purchased three more to hook up to our other devices. I would highly recommend this external port if you need extra USB ports

This is a fantastic powered USB hub at a great price, but spend the extra money to get the 10 port version - its worth it. The 10 port version while still well priced offers 6 more powered ports and is made of metal, not plastic. If you really want to spend less, have a more portable USB hub, and dont want/need the extra ports, this one will do fine.
