UPDATE: Worked the first time I used. Failed on the second attempt with Windows telling me this device malfunctioned and all usb ports were dead. My original review though still shows the usefulness of this type of usb hub with on/off switches in a Zoom meeting when you are using two or more regular usb microphones. ORIGINAL REVIEW Zoom doesnt allow you two connect two USB microphones at once. In order to use 2 or mics, you need to but MXL microphones and an audio mixer. I wanted to use an Anker Bluetooth speakerphone for a board of directors group and a cheap CAD mic for comments from an audience. The inexpensive solution I came up with was to connect the two microphones via USB cables to this hub and use its on/off buttons to manually switch mics depending on who was speaking. Zoom automatically recognizes the switched on microphone and this setup works perfectly!

Overall its a nice product. The material construction is a good quality and I appreciate the non-slip bottom. Its more compact than I imagined which to me is a plus. The only drawback is the shiny accent angle that obscures the on/off indicator lights of each port. Its not a huge issue if you just keep every port on but the viewing angle is a glaring (pun intended) design flaw. Ive looked at the thing from many angles and honestly, the only way to clearly see the lights is to look directly perpendicular to the angle of the viewing pane. I think they could solve this by simply making sure the LEDs punch through to the surface of the plane. Its not a huge problem but its worth mentioning because its somewhat of a funny example of form before function.

The power port broke after 2 months. It won’t charge any device regardless of device or cable. Out of the return window.

The hub is functioning as I hoped it would. I have a 2TB Passport drive I use for external storage and it would not work well on non-powered hubs. So far it is working great with this hub and it is handling my drive as well as thumb drives and my USB Midi controller. Im holding back on 5 stars because I have only been using it for a couple of months and I expect it to work for a very long time. I will revisit this review after I have used it longer. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a powered USB 3 hub.

Nice to have extra ports to plug gadgets and hard drives into... Works well.

I have the 4+1. It works fine but my computer wont boot if this splitter is attached. I need to unplug it, turn on the computer, wait for the boot sequence to finish, then plug it in. Its a minor inconvenience but its an inconvenience that shouldnt happen.
