Wont work with a HP Envy 17 computer -- may require more power from a USB 3.0 port or a special driver which I cant find. Cant shut down the computer with the device plugged in to one port. Trying to use it with two external disk drives -- one Western Digital Ultra and the other the latest Seagate Drive. One star! Am increasing the rating to 5 stars. Traced the problem to a defective power outlet in my backup power source. The Hub now works as intended. Make sure it has power (charger port red light should be on) before you use it.

When using my laptop or tablet, I am often handicapped by the lack of USB ports whenever I have to attach numerous USB devices on my computer. In addition to a number of thumb drives and portable external harddrives, I frequently need additional USB ports for my printer, charging stations, and card readers. The iKuai 7 Port USB 3.0 Data Hub Splitter is the exact, and very inexpensive, device to meet such computing needs. With only 1 port on my computer, I can now have 7 individual ports. Most importantly of all, the device provides 7 individual 3.0 ports. Together with the 5V/3A power adapter, it can easily support my larger-capacity external harddrives, allowing me to confidently save and retrieve my data at a high and stable transmission rate. One very useful feature I find on the device is that each USB port has an independent switch. This is very useful from my standpoint as they allow me to selectively switch any connected devices on or off without affecting the other connected devices. The device is very well constructed and sturdy. Using it is a breeze. All I need to do is plug in the power supply (which is actually optional), and connect it to a USB port on my computer, and I instantly have 7 USB ports! I highly recommend it if you need additional USB ports for your computing needs.

I like the fact that it has 7 usb ports I can use, and turn on/off without unplugging devices. Its working flawless, so far.

Product worked well for five months and then ceased to work—both charging port and data ports. The lights are on, but no charging and no data transmission. Update: contacted company and have had no response.

No issues and works fine. Getting fast charge, and great transmit speeds. Thought I wouldnt have use of the individual power buttons on each port, but found it useful for leaving rechargables still plugged in after fully charging. Also little usb lamps, speakers, and accessories you can power on off with the buttons.
