If you are attempting to replace an old hard drive, then the easiest way to do so is to clone the contents of the original drive onto your new one, and then swap them out physically. While there is free software out there that purports to do this, whether or not they actually work is a complete crapshoot. Samsung has perhaps the best drive cloning software on the planet that is incredibly easy to use. And it comes free with the purchase of any Samsung SSD. I bought this to replace my mothers laptop platter HDD for this exact reason, and was not disappointed with the purchase. It performs very well (the laptop now boots up in seconds when it used to take minutes, applications that used to take a long time to load now do so instantly), and the installation was painless. I had more trouble physically screwing out the old drive than I did cloning the data to the new one. Highly, highly recommended for pretty much everyone except for hardcore gamers with $$$$$ to spend.

Nice, works well on my iMac, however i got it originally for wifes pc laptop where it had cloning issues, unlike evo pro, which is even visually more impressive. Noticed substantial lag in opening content of large directories.. perhaps this will go away as it seems to perform well so far. Overall I dont recommend this product.
