EDIT: I recently bought another set and I am very satisfied with their performance and reliability. If you have setup issues, the manuals are well-written, and I recommend entering the HomeKit code manually. These are also the exact same as another brand Meross and theres an app to update the firmware, too. They all needed it when I received them, so their software people are on the ball. $10 each seems to be the right amount for this HomeKit accessory. I have a Wemo one that was $20, on sale, so well see if either brand outlasts the other or they just work as they should. Theres a 1-year warranty. Original Review: Finicky to set up at first...But reliable afterwards, so far. Much cheaper than Wemo or other HomeKit alternatives. I recommended them to a Luddite friend who also installed them successfully, after a bit of finicking.

I have several brands of wifi /app based plugs and for comparison they fit easily UK into the outlets, stacking in the wall outlets without crowding each other. The app is simple as can be and matching the outlets with the app took less then a minute, with setting the times/ schedule for on/off easy and intuitive. My Echo app hooked up to them in the same easy manner as pairing them with the app. Very happy with the purchase!

I’m very pleased to find mini plugs that work with both HomeKit and Alexa and have ETL safety certifications. These are nice sturdy small plugs and although the fit is tight, you can indeed get two into a regular outlet. Set up with Homekit was very easy: The device was recognized immediately, added as soon as I scanned the QR code, and worked right away. Setup was a little more difficult with Alexa because the device needed a firmware update, and as long as it did, Alexa kept saying it was unavailable. Even though it worked fine with HomeKit. Neither the Meross app nor the eHomeLife app indicated a firmware update was needed on the individual device information. Instead, I had to go into the account information, and that’s where it showed me that a firmware update was available. Once the firmware update was complete, everything worked fine. So even though the installation process was a little glitchy, I’m very pleased with the plugs and with the quality of them, especially at this price. I expect to be buying several more in the future.

Was easier to set up than I expected. I just scanned the QR code on the top of the smart switch with my iPhone’s camera and it automatically integrated with Apple Home. I didn’t need to install any 3rd party apps or create any accounts. I don’t have an Apple TV or a HomePod to handle smart automation but I don’t really need it— I just use this as a remote switch from my phone. One thing to note is I’m pretty sure it only works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and not 5.0 GHz. My router supports both so it was not a problem. Edit 10/20/2021: Every once in a while Apple Home loses connection to these smart devices and I have to unplug and plug the smart outlet back into the wall for it to reconnect. Kind of a pain. Docking one star.

The Google device comparability is a little unreliable. You have to download an app for these outlets. Setup did not go smoothly. One of the outlets would not set up, but after I had left it alone for a while, it just worked. I keep getting prompted to install new firmware, but an unable. Theres a QR code on the outlet that doesnt work right and takes you to a Google search that takes you to an h&m product. Pretty sure that wasnt supposed to happen. The lights I have plugged in to these outlets sometimes turn themselves off on their own. Basically it works, but I wish I had paid double for the Phillips product, so it could work better, along with the various hue products I use.

Purchased this item twice we loved it so much! Did not have to download a separate app - it just scans to the Apple Home App directly. Very reliable, only a rare occurrence does it need a split second to connect. Replaced old clicker version and couldnt be happier. Highly recommend.

Really good product! Easy to use. If you are an apple product user, do not use the app that goes with this product. Use the Home app in your Apple device.

Fantastic smart plugs. I have owned several different brands of smart plugs and they always have the same problem of disconnecting every few months requiring a complete reset and reconfigure to get them working again. NOT these plugs though they were plugged in and setup in maybe 2 minutes and have not had an issue in three months so far. AND they were nearly half the price of the other plugs I have tried. I set them up with HomeKit first and then with Alexa. Both setups were quick and easy no problems.

I wanted to set up my coffee in the morning and did it from my phone. It worked for a couple of days but loses signal to wifi constantly, and then I have a battle trying to set it up again. I think it works better if you have Apple TV or Apple Home, but I dont have either of those.

These worked great! I’ve previously had trouble adding refoss products to homekit. This time they added ok following these steps: Force eero network into 2.4 ghz mode Disable Pi-hole Turn WiFi off and on to have iPhone reconnect to 2.4 ghz WiFi Add to home app by scanning code (fails) -but does get them on WiFi Download refoss app and update firmware on plugs Reset plugs by holding button for 5 seconds Add to home app again by scanning code: success!
