Ive used three or four different brands of smart plugs and the VOCOlinc plugs are the easiest Ive yet seen to install and configure for Apple HomeKit. Theyre far easier to set up than a brand that shall not be named but that rhymes with Nemo. I downloaded VOCOlincs app, plugged in each plug in turn and held the power button to put it in reset mode, and the app did the rest. I particularly liked the fact that the app offers to run in HomeKit mode where it does not send any of your device data to the companys own cloud service, but just connects your devices to your Home directly. No futzing around with setting up wi-fi networks and passwords, no complications at all - just scan the HomeLink setup code from within their app and youre good to go. The devices alerted me to the fact that firmware updates were available, and within a couple of minutes all of my new smart plugs had updated themselves. Again, a far easier and more automatic process than Ive found with some competing brands.

I purchased these plugs to connect a few lamps with Apple’s HomeKit. We use the HomePod mini as our hub. Installation and setup is pretty easy. The product provides the ability to turn a device on/off with the use of Siri or with a couple taps on your apple device. You could also program it to use automations or follow a specified schedule. Overall I’m satisfied with the purchase. I’m glad I did not need to purchase smart bulbs as I did not need control over the lights’ color or intensity. Plus I could use the smart plug with devices other than lighting. Easy recommendation for those looking to try a simple smart home setup with minimal investment.

Muy buen producto pero no está funcionando a su mejor capacidad porque la señal de wifi en mi casa es muy ineficiente.

I used it for my living room television. It works just fine.

This device paired quickly using HomeKit on first use, but after a firmware update (using the VOCOlinc app), it lost connection to my home and I could never recover. The firmware update cause an incompatible error message on HomeKit, and I returned it for a refund. Not recommended for HomeKit use.

These work great with homekit. For the person below who complained about difficulty scanning the QR code once plugged into an outlet, then dont plug before scanning (instructions below). Also, on my 2.4 and 5gz router outlet even worked perfectly in joining the 2.4 network and not the 5.8, i didnt have to turn off the 5.8 at all. Setup Vocolinc Smart Plug with Apple Homekit 1. Open Apple Home app, select + and the select Add Accessory. 2. Scan QR code on side of Vocolinc smart outlet. Home will prompt to setup, DO NOT do this yet. 3. Plug into outlet. Wait 30 seconds for it to power up 4. Go back to the Home app and complete outlet setup 5. Open Vocolinc app and update the smart outlet firmware as Apple Home doesnt do this immediately.

I use Apple Homekit for my home automation, and VOCOlink is easy to install and integrates perfectly with Homekit. I also like the shape of the outlet insofar as it allows for using two plugs in one wall outlet.

Update (2 stars to 4 stars): I’ve had these smart plugs now for a few years and I wasn’t very impressed with them for the first year and half. I often went to turn them on either via the app or Apple HomeKit and they would say they were offline, even though I had them fairly near my Wi-Fi router. It seems though that they have been greatly improved over the past year or so. They are now reliably available almost all the time. I have them run on a schedule during the holidays for my Christmas lights and the schedule has run reliably as expected every day. It seems they’ve resolved the connection issues in their firmware updates and I commend the company for continuing to support the product years down the road. If I didn’t have the rough first year and half, I would have given 5 stars. But I trust that these are now a reliable option for everyone.

I have had 4 different companies of smart plugs and this by far beats the competition! For one you get 2 for the price of one from other companies! The price point is perfect to give any outdated, boring light/plug-in a smart home upgrade. The device was extremely easy to set up and the connection stays strong, especially compared to my Wemo smart plug (requires a hub) and iHome smart plug, both of which often lose signal and disconnect all the time, making them inoperable most of the time. The smart plug has had no issues! The design is more compact and smaller than my other smart plugs and has a two toned gray & white design that’s attractive to the eye and not distracting. It took me a matter of minutes to connect this to HomeKit, Alexa & Google! Also, no hub required! By far the best smart plug on the market.

Bought it to replace the older generation smart plug which went bad due to difference in Amp. This one works like a charm the only issue is, it takes a bit time to figure out; if in case you want to automate or schedule it.
