> 3 dayI love it! I use it for my PS4 and the added storage is great! Put 4 large memory games on this thing (The Witcher, Uncharted 4, Batman: Arkham Knight, Final Fantasy 15) and The YouTube app, which surprisingly took up a ton of space on my PS4 this and it didnt even get half way on the memory! This external hard drive is great and was easy to install. Best purchase I have mafe in a long while.

Greater than one weekI am not doing anything fancy here, just need an external drive to transfer and backup files to. My one requirement is that computers quickly recognize it and they did. Speeds seem solid but I will rely on the techie reviews which all seemed very good. We had about 20,000 photos to transfer and it took about 2 hours to upload via USB 2.0 and less than an hour to download via USB 3.0. It worked well on a new Windows 10 laptop as well as an old Windows 7? laptop. It is smaller and more lightweight than I expected, which is fine by me. It came with the USB cable.

> 3 dayI have several 1 terr USB 3.0 so I thought I would save a few bucks and get a warehouse return. There was a good reason it was returned in the first place. Not sure Amazon checks them when returned. Basically DOA. Would not do a long format. Tried to move a large 260 gig file and it sat for an hour. Then it would not reformat and stalled my computer until I unplugged it. Returned it and instead got a new non-refurbished and it is loading a 760 gig folder with no problem. I do pretty good on warehouse items but will avoid returned electronics in the future.

> 3 dayI bought two of these drives (1TB), one for my modded Wii, and the other for my Roku TV and both work flawlessly. Ive always went with Western digital, and they always worked for a long time (I know theres always a chance youll get a dud, but Ive never had an issue with any of my WD drives I bought in the past, theyre all still alive and well).

> 3 dayIve bought at least 10 of these portable USB drives over the years and my experience has been: (1) If you have a setup where it never moves, then you can get many years out of it (2) If you actually move the drive around (i.e., portable), then at best you get 2 years out of it before the famous clicking sound kicks in (the drives were not dropped). Overall for portability, these drives durability has not improved much if at all over the last 10 years. Moving to SSD will eliminate the mechanical issue but as of 2020, portable SSD drives are still pretty expensive (at least 2x the cost). However, I found the Pioneer 3D NAND External SSD (960 GB) which is under $100 per TB and that compares well to what some of the WD portable drives cost. (as of 2020 a WD 1TB costs around $65 to $99). At least for my portable scenario, I am going with the Pioneer SSD purely to eliminate the inevitable mechanical failure that comes with the non-WD drive. Speed is not an issue - I am just need reliable storage.

> 3 dayOverall working well now, but did have some challenges on installation. Was able to figure it out myself but initially almost sent it back because it was too frustrating. Im not really sure what the issue was but initially it would just stall while trying to backup. I looked on the internet and apparently some others have this problem. I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it, and now it has worked flawlessly for a month.

> 3 dayI havent done any benchmarks on this but it has much faster access speeds over wireless than our very old WD 3.5 inch external drive. Its very a nice, compact design and very quiet. Just plug it in and go. I have it connected to our Netgear router and shared as both a Windows share and Apple Time Machine backup location, which works great so far. Only drawback is the cable length - its really short so if you want to hook it up permanently and stash it somewhere out of site you might need to invest in a longer one.

> 3 dayHave had a WD Passport in the past, and needed an additional one so went with the product I trusted. Thought the new build was very sleek. Purchased it, came with wonderfully designed packaging and promptly on time. But, upon plugging it into the computer the hard drive would not launch. Tried multiple product fixes on their site but nothing worked. Googled a lot and ended up finding out my brand new drive must be corrupt. Contacted the company and havent heard anything back yet. Used to love this brand, but now frustrated. UPDATE--- Contacted the company and they took me step by step through how to fix this issue. Very helpful and kind, and did without a fuss. Love this company.

> 3 dayWhat I like about this external hard drive is that I can partition it. I copied my computers system backup from partition D to a partition on the HD. I also did a system image back up and also individual files such as music, pictures, and documents to the main partition. Ill do backups as the system and files change. Im running windows 10.
