> 3 dayThis is an excellent mid-tier hard drive. It isnt the fastest drive available, and its exterior case is somewhat cheap-feeling plastic, but it is a high quality and reliable drive. I have had one of these drives plugged in as a 24/7 network drive since August 2017, and it has had zero problems. All the computers in my house back up to it over our local network, so it is constantly being written to and read from, but it has held up really well. If you are looking for a great gigabyte per dollar ratio, but still want something fast enough and reliable, look no further than this WD drive.

> 3 dayIve had it for about a month now and it is consistently reliable. I periodically do full system and fill backups to this hard drive and it has been speedy and reliable. I also do incremental backups every Sunday and have not had an issue with this hard drive. I dont recommend using the backup software that comes with this device, however. I personally use the free version of EaseUS Todo; it works perfectly with this device. Definitely recommend this hard drive for backing up your computer.

> 3 dayThis product is excellent in all respects except its operating instructions, which are not adequate. It is supposed to be plug & play but the directions are contained in a document pre-loaded onto the device and they are hard to use and not fully informative. Also, the device has an annoying habit of popping up a dialog box very frequently that supposedly informs the user of the status. But this box must be closed every time it appears and the inadequate instructions do not offer a method of suppressing it. Overall, I recommend this product for its usefulness but I suggest that you buy it from a reliable retailer who will offer you after-sale support.

> 3 dayThis passport is about 1-2 mm smaller than the 2017 version and obviously looks a bit different on the outside. Same quality as the 2017 version. Fits the Lacdo Waterproof Hard EVA case I bought for it quite well. It uses USB 3 and works best with a USB 3 connection. DO NOT USE WITH A USB HUB -- even a USB 3 hub! This drive draws all its power from your computer -- a power level too high for most hubs (learned this the hard way). Direct connection to your computer only, please! Flexible, easy to use. you will like this drive, especially if you travel.

> 3 dayI store videos/movies and watch via TV. It works as good as previous model but cheaper. But dont trust the hardware encryption as with previous model. I tested the previous model and this one the same way. I was hoping for better result. I set 16 digit/letter/symbol password, then erase/format the drive using the provided utility app(Popup window where you input the password) without removing password. Then formatted twice more with windows explore. But I was able to retrieve almost all files in perfect condition using data recovery software that I bought it for $40. Therefore, I wouldnt store anything highly sensitive unless you lock it up in a safe.

> 3 dayWorks exactly like it should. Not sure that I am a fan of the software that it comes with and would rather use it without. I mainly just use it to have a copy of my word documents and store my steam games. I can play my steam games off of this no problem. Not a fan of the light on it either. I would rather it just stay on without blinking whenever its being used. Ive put a small piece of electrical tape over it to keep it from bothering me

Greater than one weekPlugged it in and it works. Just to be sure, I ran various formatting and disk check tests to exercise the disk until I had 100 hrs on it, to weed out any early problems (infant mortality, its called in the reliability biz). I like the three-year warranty, but didnt want to commit my data until I felt confident in the drive. Im doing some extended travel and Im hauling this drive around with me as a back-up, and to hold my music and photo libraries that are too large for my laptop. This is my second My Passport from WD. It appears to be identical to the previous WD 2TB drive, except for the styling of the case. I dont like the sharp corners of this drive; the earlier version had more rounded corners. A minor point, but I will be packing and unpacking this drive (and the earlier one, as Im carrying both) pretty often, and the rounded corners are easier to handle. As compensation I got an Amazon Basics Hard Carrying Case. Provides some protection, and prevents things from snagging on the corners.

> 3 dayEasy to install hardware and software seems to work fine for now. However, (I never thought I would say this) I like the windows 10 backup process better.

> 3 dayfirst experience with WD - it seems to be working ok now though the key for a backup drive is how is it working years later? One issue, i keep getting a message that the backup file is corrupted and asking if it should be deleted. Cant seem to find a fix. I may just reformat the whole thing and backup manually - not as convenient but i can at least access the files directly without having to restore. Had a Seagate before - it died after about 3-4 years --- seems a short life for a drive which is only accessed every hour or so and then for only a few seconds. The one in my computer is 8-years old, is accessed all the time, and still works! I probably ought to dig into the box and see what brand it is.

> 3 dayEl disco duro funciona bien, pero al tiempo tuve un accidente con el puerto USB, y no entra el cable, al tratar de cambiar la caja, no es posible porque el puerto USB está soldado, el arreglo sale casi igual que el disco duro, pésimo soporte.
