> 3 dayIve had it for about a month now and it is consistently reliable. I periodically do full system and fill backups to this hard drive and it has been speedy and reliable. I also do incremental backups every Sunday and have not had an issue with this hard drive. I dont recommend using the backup software that comes with this device, however. I personally use the free version of EaseUS Todo; it works perfectly with this device. Definitely recommend this hard drive for backing up your computer.

Greater than one weekI bought this to sub in for my other external HD with external power supply. So comparing to that, this one is easier to use - plug the USB and thats it. Storage size and speed is OK. When I bought it, 2TB was huge, and USB 3.0 was super fast. But nowadays there are many newer options with SSD. So in general, for a backup solution, this one is good enough.

> 3 dayThis is a terrific product. I am a MAC user as wells PC and I found it easy to convert to a format readily accessible for both MAC and PC. Western had easy instruction to find, access and follow on their support site. I am not a programmer or IT Guru, so even Could get it done in short order. Once done, it was a breeze and I was able to transfer all my data and files to the drive and free up necessary hard disk space. It is light, portable and fast. I can now access the data between my MAC and PC. If you need a drive, I recommend this one without reservation. The price was right and it is a sold performed. Great for the road warrior like me.

> 3 dayUsed it with my Xbox One S too beef up the storage since we all know that 500GB is not enough nowadays. After plugging the hard drive into my Xbox, you need to format it which takes about 5 seconds, and youre ready to go.

> 3 dayWD is the way to go, especially when theyre not putting garbage shovel-ware onto their External Hard Drives, and Im happy to report that there isnt any of that crap on this one. It requires no power to use this device other than the USB port, and from my experience wont give up on you after a year like most seagate drives Ive handled have. In this day and age, Dont get anything less than 2TB. The difference in price between 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB are extremely measly (50 for 1TB, 60 for 1.5, 70 for 2Tb). Thats 20$ more for double the capacity. And if youre buying this, you probably already filled up your primary hard drive. So just get the 2TB, or higher.

> 3 dayIm using this drive to store all my customers graphic design work on. The only thing thats been a problem is ejecting it. Its actually a big problem because everytime I want to unplug it, I have to turn off my laptop. Not very convenient. Ive done some research and Im not sure if its a problem with the drive or my computer. In any case, its a pain. Thats why I gave it 3 stars.

> 3 dayI do love this product BUT... and I almost thought about giving it four stars or less because of this...YOU HAVE TO FORMAT IT for a Mac. It wouldnt work and even when I followed the instructions, it still wasnt responsive. I thankfully found the packaging it came in, called WD hotline for help and they walked me through my computer settings to format it for proper use. It has been backing everything up beautifully since then. So, if youre like me and have very little computer knowledge, KEEP the packaging and call the hotline to help set it up.

Greater than one weekIve been using WD drives for backkups for years. These dont disappoint. My only beef is an ergonomic one - the squared off shape in this generation is a bit of a tight fit in the Amazon Basics cases. They do fit however.

> 3 dayStandard 2TB storage drive for a pretty good price. The WD software it comes with is totally optional; I reformatted the drive upon arrival. I havent used it for long enough for it to fail, but it seems that most HDDs by WD, Seagate, etc. are about the same in terms of reliability. The MyPassport is pretty slim, but not exactly pocket-sized (approx. 3.25 x 4.25 x 0.75 or 8 cm x 11 cm x 2 cm). Read/write speeds are average for a USB drive.
