I bought this after my Seagate quit working. Hands down, the WD is clearly superior in every way. Cheaper, faster and most of all, very easy to use and understand. Super quite and compact. Able to be transported only if really needed to be, but I bought the Lacdo EVA shockproof carrying case. That is a must have with this external Hard Drive. I love it.

Excellent disk. Compact, light and fast. I bought it to backup my Mac with Time Machine. At first I was unable to format it on MAC although I am not a novice user, so I come to think that the product was defective. I contacted WDs technical support and in a few minutes they helped me solve the problem. Now it works perfect. 100% MAC-compatible

Only reason for 4 stars as I cannot figure out the automatic backup and if I need to use it that way. I use it only to back up my Photos and so far it has been quite reliable. I wish I could figure out the software.

Ive had it for about a month now and it is consistently reliable. I periodically do full system and fill backups to this hard drive and it has been speedy and reliable. I also do incremental backups every Sunday and have not had an issue with this hard drive. I dont recommend using the backup software that comes with this device, however. I personally use the free version of EaseUS Todo; it works perfectly with this device. Definitely recommend this hard drive for backing up your computer.

Purchased to serve as my backup non-cloud system. Works great. The software that comes with it works great. Good value for the price point. I would purchase again.

So far so good. I just returned Seagate 2TB drive because was not working as it should while coping a lot of files at one time. It just stop coping after few files and then I had to unplug it and plug it in so I could use it again. With this one 2TB doing the same thing, I have no problem and the speed is good too. It goes up to 110MB/s which is fast. The only thing that I dont like is position of the LED which is located on the plug side of the drive. To me is the back of the drive and not the front like it should.

I realize that this drive is not listed in the compatible drives that my router accepts. It also states that as long as drivers are not needed it should work. Which this does not. The router was bought last year. The hard drives the router takes are already obsolete. So 500 gb for 75 or 1TB for 75. Hm

Used it with my Xbox One S too beef up the storage since we all know that 500GB is not enough nowadays. After plugging the hard drive into my Xbox, you need to format it which takes about 5 seconds, and youre ready to go.

Backing up your files takes a little longer than the more expensive drives but for the price its still a good buy.

Works with Windows 10. My observation: The product did not come with written instructions, unless I missed something. The user is suppose to know that the external drive hAs to be connected to a USB port on computer and then the user can find the electronic version of the user guide contained with the drive on the computer screen monitor. I was concerned that I could not fully take advantage of this product till I located the user guide. It must be that Western Digital is trying to reduce paper included in product. In my opinion, it would be better served if short instructions were included with the product on where to find the user guide.
