Pretty fast Hard drive even with USB 2.0 Very small, easy to use, but have to download new version of the software. Software doesnt allow you to choose each file to backup or skip. It also buries the backup way down, so you have to search for it. The software could be better designed. Why do the colored ones cost $20 more?

I do love this product BUT... and I almost thought about giving it four stars or less because of this...YOU HAVE TO FORMAT IT for a Mac. It wouldnt work and even when I followed the instructions, it still wasnt responsive. I thankfully found the packaging it came in, called WD hotline for help and they walked me through my computer settings to format it for proper use. It has been backing everything up beautifully since then. So, if youre like me and have very little computer knowledge, KEEP the packaging and call the hotline to help set it up.

This is a small 2TB external drive that backs up on schedule without incident. WD also notifies you when an updated version of their S/W is available so you can choose to upgrade it if you want. Just plug it into your PC or laptop and let it do backups on a regular basis or use it to keep copies of files you want to maintain on an external drive.

This is one of the BEST digital drives Ive seen. Its compact and super easy to set up and use. There are more included extra features than most. I cant say that I could find even one thing I didnt like about it. I would highly recommended product.

Great drive. Reasonably priced for a 2TB. I have 3 WD portable drives. They all work well and a couple have lasted several years. The difference between this one and the Ultra is backup software. I dont need it. I needed a good external drive for use with my PS4 and this one works well. But, youll have to reformat it for FAT or exFAT. PS4 wont recognize NTFS file system. These portable are great. I greatly prefer them to standard external hard drives. Theres no need for an external power source. It gets all its power through the USB port. This drive is USB 3.0. The performance is pretty good. Seems to maintain 100 MB/sec read and write speeds and higher depending on the file size. It can drop to close to 50-60 MB/sec for large file transfers. This drive is about as small as it can be and not terribly heavy. Its a great choice if you need some external storage. I trust Western Digital. Based on years of good experience with their products. I do not trust the other brand most typically compared to WD. I have had major problems with their drives.

Bought it at $69.99 and has worked great for me so far. Has good download/upload speeds and seems like its built well. I have not had any corruption issues with it and hopefully wont because its being used to store backups.

I love this and use it for my xbox and ps4, my only gripe is it only has 1.8 T if you get the 2 T option, not sure why this is but product is great.

Id recommend 2 TB if youre getting this for PS4. So far, I have 25 games on mine (with games ranging from 1 gig such as Minecraft to 62+ such as GTA) with 1.2 tb still available. Anything more is overkill in my opinion.

Plugged it in and it works. Just to be sure, I ran various formatting and disk check tests to exercise the disk until I had 100 hrs on it, to weed out any early problems (infant mortality, its called in the reliability biz). I like the three-year warranty, but didnt want to commit my data until I felt confident in the drive. Im doing some extended travel and Im hauling this drive around with me as a back-up, and to hold my music and photo libraries that are too large for my laptop. This is my second My Passport from WD. It appears to be identical to the previous WD 2TB drive, except for the styling of the case. I dont like the sharp corners of this drive; the earlier version had more rounded corners. A minor point, but I will be packing and unpacking this drive (and the earlier one, as Im carrying both) pretty often, and the rounded corners are easier to handle. As compensation I got an Amazon Basics Hard Carrying Case. Provides some protection, and prevents things from snagging on the corners.

This is a terrific product. I am a MAC user as wells PC and I found it easy to convert to a format readily accessible for both MAC and PC. Western had easy instruction to find, access and follow on their support site. I am not a programmer or IT Guru, so even Could get it done in short order. Once done, it was a breeze and I was able to transfer all my data and files to the drive and free up necessary hard disk space. It is light, portable and fast. I can now access the data between my MAC and PC. If you need a drive, I recommend this one without reservation. The price was right and it is a sold performed. Great for the road warrior like me.
