> 3 dayI am a traveling consultant. Since I began using Dragon Naturally Speaking, I have been able to increase my written output of both client required updates and reports as well as all the internal stuff that goes with a life on the road - without adding any time to my week. Try it, youll like it! Dont be shy or impatient - take the time to work with the initial user profile setup routine. Once the Dragon learns your patterns, it is almost foolproof.

> 3 dayIve only had this product for a short time, but I love it! Very easy to train and Ive been pretty happy with the accuracy overall. Whenever I have some free time, I do read additional scripts of increasing levels of complexity in order to increase my vocabulary, and I have found that since I bought a USB adapter for the included headset that my accuracy have improved even further. The only thing Im getting used to is speaking the way you type. Otherwise, you end up with an ndless sentence, but for what Im using it for, its still much faster than typing everything word for word. I love it, and have recommended it to several friends and family members!

> 3 dayI have had this product for some time and it still does not learn my accent. I didnt even know I had an accent, but I must because the software just does not get me, no matter how hard I try. I am a writer and it is difficult at best to be creative with all the corrections needed when using this product. When I am writing things such as a fact-based only article, it is ok as I am not writing on the fly and can deal with all the corrections. It may be a good fit for someone else, but not me.

> 3 dayI was unsure whether I would be getting the latest version of the product, or not, but when it arrived it was 11.5 and not the 11.0 version stated on the product information. I had resigned myself to not having the latest as I couldnt find a product listing for 11.5 version, but the CD is actually 11.5. Product seems nice, but I havent fully trained it yet.

> 3 dayI write courses for Microsofts courseware library that center on SQL server Business Intelligence and SharePoint. The courses that I write target a sophisticated audience at least they are supposed to. This means they have technical jargon in them or geek speak complicating the task for any voice recognition software. I have recently started to use Dragon Naturally Speaking. This is the latest version, 11, the professional edition. I have tried earlier versions of Dragon in the hopes that it would increase my productivity and I have also tried built in voice recognition available in Windows 7. I did not find either the earlier versions of Dragon or voice recognition in Windows 7 to be of a high enough quality to be useful. However this latest version of Dragon is absolutely outstanding and I highly recommend it.There is no disclaimer here as I have in no way been compensated by Dragon though if they read this and want to change that Im open to negotiations!

> 3 dayI got this program for my wife to help with the amount of writing that she does. My beef with this is the training that you have to do so that the program recognizes your voice. It turns out that my wife has never fully follwed through on using it. It does work, and it does help, but you have to work at it.

> 3 dayI love the fact that I dont have to type my papers, but the program took some getting use to. The supplied headphones did not work well because it distorted the speech to such an extent that the program got the words wrong. I then bought an Andrea stereo headset and this was 90% better. Now I plan to upgrade my program but havent done so because the manufacturer wants full price. I paid full price upon original purchase. The upgrade should give the consumer a price break. I would have updated annually otherwise. As it is Im holding back on this one.

> 3 dayThe Dragon is actually for my husband. Hes still working on the voice recognition or communicatio aspect. Sometimes it understands what he says and sometimes not, which might be because he is just learning how it works. So, I think he needs a little more time to understand how it works before he can make a fair judgment of this product.

> 3 dayItll take some getting used to using it, with the various command, although the initial training I had to do was not as cumbersome as I had expected to have gone through and it was capturing what I was saying without error. Tried in another environment and it was not as functional, although, it will come in handy for recording meeting notes.

> 3 dayI took the advice of the folks who advised picking up version 11.5, and not only did I save a pocket full of cash but I got a good product to boot. After installation on my Windows 7 laptop (shut off your antivirus/spyware protection first!) all it took was about 20 minutes of reading to the software for training and it was surprisingly really super accurate and fast during dictation. Another plus was that it pointed me toward a free app for my iPhone that allows me to dictate text messages (Dragon Dictation). Sweet. Follow the advice of those telling you to pickup version 11.5 and get a good product for a lot less money.
