This was my 4th 3d printer and for the money, it has been a real work horse for me. Of course it prints PLA like many do, but I mainly print with PETg. Using the included high heat hot end makes a real difference with the quality of the PETg prints while the standard one that is installed already prints PLA wonderfully. I love the magnetic bed as prints stick well with just some air spray and then remove nicely with the flexible print surface. I did end up upgrading to the Qidi all metal hot end so I could print higher temp PETg and Nylon without distorting the feeder tube. I will say something about the Qidi support response. I have emailed my Qidi X-Plus support several times with questions and I always get a response within 24 hours. All in all I really enjoy using this printer and for the Price I believe it to be a very good value.

Print quality is beautiful and this 3d printer is much quieter than my older 3d printer. My younger sisters feel it easy to clean and operate(The removable magnet that sits on the print bed is amazing).

Amazing Machine! This is the most Professional 3D printer I have ever worked with. The prints come out clean and accurate. Perfect for Jewelry and you can send your prints to the machine via Network. And the best part is the Service! Linda has been very professional and will go above and beyond to help you with any problems 24/7. A++ for Qidi Tech

I highly recommend going with the Qidi X-Plus if you got the space for it! So far Ive made dozens of prints that have come out very nice and durable. Also, the customer support has been outstanding. They typically get back to me without 15-30 mins of emailing them. Recently, they helped me update the firmware and gave me instructions/files on how to integrate with other (Cura/Prusa) slicing software.

I originally gave this product a 3 star rating because I was having trouble getting any help from customer service. Turns out that the fault was mine. I am so used to researching everything on the web, that rather than looking on the machine itself for the customer service info, I searched the web, found the QIDI web site and was trying to get my customer service through them. After I was directed to the correct customer service address, the service was fantastic!! I have tried other manufacturers and their instructions were non-existent other than confusing instructions on how to put their machines together!! The QIDI X Plus II was 90+% assembled out of the box and they give you instructions that will blow your mind!! Also it has features that others lack, i.e., filament controls that allow you to put the filament in the hole and let the machine feed it to the nozzle!! It recognizes when there is no filament and pauses the print. And when you want to remove filament, you can press a button and the machine backs the filament our for you!! No more pushing down on the filament release and having to manually pull the filament out. This is my 4th printer and by far the very best!!! I would highly recomend it to anyone interested in a simple machine easy for beginners with unbelievable instructions and a great customer service team. My 3 star rating is now a 5 and I would give it more if I could!!

I bought my X plus close to a year ago and was impressed with the ease of setup and the initial print quality. My experience with technical support has been good, they respond and care about the customer

It does what I intend it to do. It is a work horse Ive ran it for hours at a time, and have about over 200 hours of print time in a span of 3 months. Ive printed tools with it (no significant force) for tight spaces when Im working on my car. Ive printed toys for my nephew using TPU, ABS, PLA, Silk, all of which takes a while to dial in, to get a great print. So once its locked on it truly makes an impressive print, it can handle detailed prints with amazing results, but takes more time like anything else in the market. However, I did switch slicer from qidi to simplify3d because it cuts the print time significantly. Qidi slicer is okay if you dont mind few more time to print. It is based on cura slicer so if you can make it work with this printer, it might help. The printer is very consistent as long as you level it every couple or few prints (Quick level is good enough). It helps that it can be enclosed for ABS printing, parts are easy to inspect and easily replaceable if need be (so far none). Suprisingly Qidi has been very responsive and detailed when Im troubleshooting, which is really Impressive. Bottomline if youre new to this and you have some spare bucks. Also, wanting to have something that prints out of the box, this is a good candidate. Its consistent, less hassle if youre not into building your own 3d printer, and really good after purchase support. I just wish they can be upgradable for multiple extruder.

I recommend purchasing this printer. It is the first time I have used a 3D printer; this one is easy to set up and make run. More importantly, the technical support is fantastic! Sending an email to one of the addresses in the (very short and easy to read) manual is enough to get very good technical support any time within an hour (even with the time difference between Europe and China).

Qidi makes very nice 3D printers. I feel because this printer is advertised as industrial grade it has some shortcomings. However if you think of it as a hobby printer it is probably the best available. Pros: 1) QIDI Customer Service. Emails to service reps were responded to within 24 hours, always with helpful advice and a positive attitude. Some of my cons below were addressed or at least attempted to be addressed by very helpful and patient QIDI representatives. 2) QIDI stands behind their product. I needed a replacement part, I am in California. QIDI shipped it from China and it was here within 4-5 days. This is incredible considering we are under Covid-19 lockdown. Well done! 3) Printer prints PLA very well. 4) Build plates are very convenient when they work 5) Overall printer design gives you great value for the money 6) The internal LED lighting is very helpful 7) The touch screen works great Cons: 1) Build surface sticks to some materials. And tears when removing the stickier parts, which destroys the build plate. And the build plates are around $20 each. Ive already gone through 3 in less than a month. QIDI should include a more reliable glass printing surface. 2) Documentation is incomplete and sometimes confusing, for example the X-Plus comes with an “extruder upgrade” however installation is not necessary unless printing with vinyl. Manual makes it seem like a necessary upgrade. 3) No Simplify3D online compatibility. The WiFi feature is somewhat useless if I can’t connect to the printer in Simplify3D. 4) Included slicing software poorly documented, includes apparent programming errors. For example if you import a model and try to “center” the model for printing, the Qidi software places the model roughly 1 meter outside the build volume in the wrong place. So even a feature as basic as centering a print is impossible without manual placement. Slicing process also takes a long time compared to Simplify3D. 5) Prints only slightly better than lower cost printers, no dramatic increase in quality or speed of printing. I have noticed a more reliable printing experience, however I have recently had a lot of problems making my success rate roughly 50-60%. 6) Language/translation problems. English is not very good on included literature. This makes the company appear unprofessional if you are an English speaker. I think QIDI would benefit from a native English speaker editing their documentation and improving the image of the company to Western customers. Their translations are 85-90% perfect, but they could easily achieve 100% with upgraded translations. 7) Customer service was friendly and helpful but training/instructional videos included with their responses were incomplete. QIDI should create better more complete instructional videos for dealing with common problems. This is not the fault of their service representatives who are simply passing the information along. I think QIDI would benefit from producing more complete instructional videos to help customers. 8) Preheating issues. I cannot get my extruder to heat up automatically when printing. I have set the temp properly in Simplify3D. I have even done it successfully in the past with this printer. I am using the QIDI printer profile in Simplify3D. It was working and then stopped. I have to manually preheat, then start the print. I cannot simply print the file and have the bed and extruder heat to the desired temp. The bed heats up, the extruder doesnt. Extremely frustrating. 9) Filament/Spool design is problematic. It has been mentioned in several reviews. Put simply: if you’re printing a large print you’re going to have a bad time. Qidi has recommended after market modifications to address this issue. 10) I wish you could update the firmware easily from the printer, which is connected over WiFi. You have to download the firmware installation files onto a USB stick on a computer, put the USB stick into the printer, and run a Print on that file to install. Wish the firmware upgrade could be managed via the WiFi connection. Summary: To summarize this is a great hobby printer. It is not an industrial grade 3D printer in my opinion. If I had purchased this as a hobby printer I’d be very impressed. When marketed as an industrial grade printer I am disappointed. I still feel it is a good value, but simply too unreliable for industrial applications. Especially considering major basic design flaws like buggy slicer software, Wifi incompatible with Simplify3D, and a poorly designed filament management system.
