Good read/write speeds. Samsungs software always makes it easy to make sure your system is optimized for an SSD and contains useful features for cloning or setting up your new hard drive. Ive owned a few of the EVO models now and have not experienced any issues so far.

The software wouldnt work with my setup, was using two hard drives in Raid configuration , but was hoping it might . no luck this time,but the drive is working great and one day delivery , ordered in morning and was here later afternoon. Robert .

Only 4 stars due to difficulty cloning my old hard drive on Windows 10 with the worse than useless Samsung software that ships with this SSD. The Samsung application that ships with the SSD is potentially dangerous on Windows 10 and it took an hour or more to recover from a failed clone attempt - The Samsung software damaged structure on my source drive which Windows 10 was fortunately able to repair. That said, I downloaded Macrium Reflect 6 which is available as a free download. Reflect took less than two hours to clone my 125 GB main drive to the Samsung and ran without a hitch. Reflect is a VERY NICE piece of software and Ill take a closer look at it for other applications. The clone process was quite intuitive and Reflect displayed informative status messages as it progressed through the various tasks involved in cloning the three partitions on my old drive. Boot on WIndows 10 is now running about 12 seconds. Nice. Thanks to Macrium Reflect for the save!

Hello, I am writing to make you the consumer aware of a minor issue , NOT with the product but with the required pieces parts to install the drive. You NEED to have a SATA to USB adapter cable to install this drive. IT IS NOT included, nor is it apparent you will need one when reading the description and other technical details. Now , a statement that cables and other accessories are not included is present in the description, but that didnt make me think I needed to buy a separate cable to install, maybe Im not too bright? could be. I did get the housing recommended, thanks Amazon! please include the $7 adapter so others dont have to wait for another pieces to arrive (PROPS to Amazon PRIME NOW!) should have adapter in 90 min so not too bad ...but STILL! THIS is a great drive please get it you will be thankful, but make sure you get the cable as well

Breathed new life into my mac. I had a 2009 MacBook 160 GB that was on its last leg. The battery was overheating, the computer was super slow, and I was out of memory. I was ready to chuck it, but thought I would give a SSD upgrade and battery swap a shot. Boy does this make a difference. The computer is fast, smooth, and a lot cooler between this ssd and a new battery. I cloned the drive with SuperDuper! and performed the swap. I also used a 2.5 SATA USB enclosure from this site. Keep in mind the super-duper! will not create a recovery partition, buy you can used apps like Recovery creator 3.8 to restore it. Other than that the swap was super simple with no issues. Running bootcamp as well. Honestly, the MacBook runs better than my 2012 MacBook. Very happy with this purchase.

Ordered this along with an hard drive caddy to install into my 2011 Macbook and worked like a charm! This upgrade is pretty much like doing a heart transplant on your computer giving it a new lease on life. Beyond happy now that I don’t have to wait for forever and a day for my adobe apps to open!

Fixed all my problems (HDD Was recently replaced but did not work) Mac runs faster than ever. 2011 Macbook pro 13 inch i5 4gb ram booted in 15 seconds would recommend.

this is very light.. while I hold it I thought that I got only case delivered. the installation is simple and Samsung software cloned the current HDD smoothly. over all I am happy.

This is my first leap into solid state drives. My old pc had become suspiciously slow, and the seek times on the old IDE driver werent looking right. Now windows7 boots in roughly 12 seconds. Very cool.

Great drive, great price but returned boot error after a little over a year of use. A disk error occurred Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart restarting only returned the same error, the drive was detected but would not boot. After several attempts the drive was no longer detected, I disconnected all of my drives, reconnected the Samsung 850 EVO 500GB and everything booted up fine. Reconnected other drives and all is well.
