Best upgrade you can make for you computer to be more responsive. I wish the prices of these drop soon and the 1TB will be more reasonable for purchase. No noise, less heat, less obstruction in your PC case, and super responsive. Ive had two of these for almost 10 months now and everything is awesome (Lego Movie tune). One is for Windows the other is for OSX, I have a Hackintosh build. I notice many people benching them and showing so I have done the same but after 10 months of usage. Benches tend be a lot better when theres nothing on the drive and fresh out the box. This drive that is benched has been running pretty much non stop as my OS drive plenty of data moved, copied, and programs installed. Its about 30% full.

The harddrive is very fast great job.

Ive been using a 7200rpm HDD on my gaming computer for the last two years. Ive always heard from friends that once you get an SSD you wont go back to a regular hard drive. I spent about two weeks in a debate with myself about whether I could justify spending $157 on an SSD when my hard drive was doing good enough. After deciding I should do it I decided to go all out and get the 500gb model. I decided with Samsung after looking at warranties and over all reliability. Ive read nothing but good things about Samsungs customer support and I knew that the extra price for the 850 EVO was worth the peace of mind and reliability over the cheaper SSDs on offer. So, after installing it I noticed an night and day difference in my computer. No longer was windows taking 30 seconds from boot to desktop. No more waiting 2 minutes before being able to launch chrome or any other program. Overall my computer feels much more snappier. Overall it takes about 10 seconds from boot to desktop. Before my monitor even turns on from sleep my computer is at the desktop. I can open chrome as soon as my computer reaches desktop without fear of freezing my computer for another 5 minutes. Games such as Battlefield 1 take 10 seconds to load into a map. Overall if you are looking at ways to improve your computers performance without spending an arm and a leg an SSD such as the 850 EVO is the way to go.

I bought this to replace an aging and under-used WD 1TB mechanical drive. It was very easy to install (you have to read the info about what to buy with it, because its just the drive). You also need a cloning cable, a mounting frame to use it in your hard drive bay, preferably the kind with a plug extender built into the frame. It came with the cloning software and the whole process including set up, cloning removal of the old drive and installing the new took under 2 hours. Everything went smoothly and this drive is WAY faster than my 7200 RPM hard drive was. Full cold boot to Win7 Pro in under 35 seconds. Everything on the computer now operates MUCH faster. Best improvement Ive ever done.

This thing is awesome. Upgraded from a 100 GB vertex ocz mostly to get more space, and wasnt sure that I would notice a difference in terms of speed, but damn. Windows boots in around 10 seconds! Im happy with this.

I chose this based on reviews rating it as having excellent longevity compared with other major brands. No surprises in the install. Price is higher than the competition but worth it if its as good as expected. Have not done any objective speed testing. Initial subjective performance is excellent with Ubuntu 14.04 in VM under Xen hypervisor (Debian dom 0) booting from power off to usable browser in under 30 seconds including user click time on my modest core i5 mini tower. If lifetime is as suggested by the lab torture tests it might rate five stars but no way to know at this time.

Bought it the day it came out! Absolutely incredible performance, especially with Samsung Magician enabled. You wont believe the benchmark test results you get from this beast. Just buy it!

Best upgrade in a long time. Windows boots up super fast and the performance is great compared to my old Sata 2 HDD.

Migration software was garbage, but once in use this was the best upgrade I have ever done. Computer went from three minute boot to near instant.
