SAMSUNG 850 EVO 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E500B/AM)

I use this for my game storage since my HDD wasnt cutting it anymore, I couldnt stand the noise. This was going to replace that drive and it definitely does the job. This SSD is blazing fast as you have probably read. The speeds even without rapid mode enabled are great, however with rapid enabled on the Magician software it speeds up more than 6x. I get a write speed around 8gb/s, yes 8 gigs per second. Obviously, I wont be needing that high of a transfer speed but its amazing that it could help that much. If you need a new drive for gaming or normal use, this is it. You cant go wrong with Samsung.

Product is fine though much hyped about. In my other laptop i am using Kingston SV 300 and frankly cant make a difference between the two. I dont find much utility for the Magician software. Cloning / data migration software which is provided in package doesnt clone partitions. I went from my 7200 HDD with intent as to increased speed and significantly enhance battery life which it does but not much say the difference i would feel is like 30%~40%. Cant go much wrong with this product.

I used this HDD to replace an old, mechanical one in a (fast) dual-core based laptop computer on which boot time was unacceptably long, and on which some applications started and ran slowly. It was easy to do so using manufacturer-proprietary software to restore my entire fixed disk from a very-recent external backup -- went smoothly and took no more than 1 hour, 30 minutes. This unit fit the drive-carrier, connectors, and drive bay perfectly. The screws also aligned perfectly (without some of the wiggling/reverse-engineering sometimes needed for such tasks). Boot-time into Windows 7 (from a cold start) has fallen by at least 75%; applications now start at least three times as fast, and run noticeably faster. (Its still a bit weird not to hear a motor whirring as these events occur -- but its comforting to realize that there are no moving parts to wear out and fail.) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this upgrade for laptops starting to struggle with newer, more-demanding operating systems and applications!

SO many good things to say about this! Startup in my 2011 MB Pro went from about 45 seconds to about 22 seconds! For the price, how can you go wrong? High quality, easy to transfer everything over, so happy to finally have an SSD!!!! I usually have Safari, spotify, iTunes, go pro, aperture, and more open all at once and this handles it with ease! Battery life is a little better too and the whole computer is completely silent now!

Ordered this along with an hard drive caddy to install into my 2011 Macbook and worked like a charm! This upgrade is pretty much like doing a heart transplant on your computer giving it a new lease on life. Beyond happy now that I don’t have to wait for forever and a day for my adobe apps to open!

Ordered on Thursday, received and installed on Saturday. What a difference! Much faster boot times and program starts. I run two VMs on top of my base OS and this has greatly enhanced the performance of my laptop. This was a great investment!

First, I purchased this with my own money. im not one of those fake reviewers. OMG!!! This SSD has made my laptop soooooo fast on startup and loading! I highly recommend this. The included optimization software is very nice and user friendly as well. Samsung hit a massive HOMERUN with this! Just be sure you purchase the cable to transfer the data from your old slow HDD to this new BLAZING fast SSD. You will be impressed. Ive gone from approx. 60 second boot time and long pauses to load apps and programs to 7 second boot times and absolutely no delay to load apps and programs. I used to believe RAM was to root of all evil for slow PC performance. I was sooo wrong. Old HDDs will bog down any laptop/PC from the past several years. they simply cant keep up with the faster processors, RAM modules, graphics cards, motherboards etc.

Love this drive! I used it to boost the life of my first gen i7 desktop. The bootup time on my system is unbelievable now. App usage and surfing latency has been decreased. My internet speed (75/75) is now the bottleneck. I am happy. It works solid and the supplied software is pretty nice. One tip though: Migrating my original OS partition was tricky since the supplied software kept returning an error. It was a 1 TB drive with the main drive only taking 200GB. I had to repartition the drive to under ~500GB (under the size of the 850 EVO). I repartitioned the source drive to about ~400GB and the migration software moved it over without issue. I was migrating Windows 7 and it had no issues after bootup. I then decided to upgrade to Win10 and it took about an hour! I never upgraded a (Windows) OS so quickly and effortlessly. The SSD definitely sped up the process since the file copies (~3.5GB), installation and configuration happened so quickly. I am really impressed with the SSD upgrade.

I bought this hard drive as a replacement for another SSD hard drive that crashed. Since I had already modified my desktop computer to accomodate a SSD hard drive, it was an easy installation. I reloaded Windows and all other software and my backed up data. It has been running without any problems for about a month.
