Schlage 12mm Cinch Ring Security Chain (No Lock)

Havent seen how this chain will hold up against a thief yet but it seems big, heavy and quite beefy. Love the loop through (cinch ring) option as it gives you much more length (instead of having to match both ends of a chain which reduces your length). Update: 2 years securing my sons moped at college now and the chain hasnt been touched.. has stayed looking new through two winters. This is a serious chain and have been very very impressed. Used it with a Sobo cylinder lock and both are awesome.

Wow, this thing is pretty awesome. And heavy. Not Pewag or ABUS hardness (what is?), but certainly good enough to deter most all bad guys. I really like the moveable sleeve that allows access to links up the chain. Gives me a super tight fit using my Stanley padlock against the Cinch Ring. My application is to protect RV components, and I think it works great. Very reasonable price for the quality received.

A very good chain, great for security

After having my storage unit broken in to 2 times I purchased this chain Kept thieves away. I saw attempted hack saw marks and bolt cutter marks that barely scratched the metal. I use it in combination with a very durable shrouded lock.

I bought this to lock up my and my wifes e-bikes when they are attached to our bike carrier. Its long enough for my situation and it certainly looks beefy; I hope Ill never find out if it stands up to a bolt cutter attack. It BARELY fits with the chain, which is actually good since that leaves minimal room for a bolt cutter to attack. (It fits pretty easily through the loop, and just barely through two links.)

This is a good heavy chain. The welds on the chain appear to be good and strong but the welds on the big ring don’t look as good. Not sure if I trust the cinch ring with the way the welds look but overall this is a good chain.

Should of gotten 2

We all know that with enough time and the correct tools nothing is impenetrable. But this chain is as close as youre going to get to stopping a perp because unless he has a lot of time and some sort of electric grinding tool and or a 5 foot bolt cutter hes not getting through this chain any time soon. If one were going to steal something this chain is locked to, the attack point might shift to the lock or what the chain is wrapped around because this thing is an animal and it might be easier to attack a weaker part. Though its made in China it seems to be made well. There is a cover to the chain that has velcro wrapped through the link so it cant shift when youre trying to loop it through something. This was a big help because I was feeding the chain through the seat frame of my truck and it was a very tight fit. The weight alone tells you that this chain means serious business (approx 6 lbs). If I had a complaint it would be that the black cover that covers the chain leaves too many links exposed. I understand its like that for the ring to cinch the chain and then you lock your padlock through it but in my case it makes too much noise when I shift my gun safe around. I used heat shrink tubing to keep the links quiet and now its much quieter when I move the safe around. Right now Im using them in conjunction with my gun safes (Fort Knox) in my trucks (wrapped around the seat frame) and in my house as well. I feel very confident that the safes are staying put . The cinching action of the ring allows the chain to to extend further than if you had to lock both links with a padlock. This chain is everything advertised and is beyond the solid chains you think you are buying! I use it to secure my yeti and so far so good! Awesome sleeve and security chain to have

I bought it for a motorcycle and i think even for that its too heavy/ Thicc but the quality is there
