We are able to loop the under side of the RV frame and pass the link through the wheel (spokes) and lock with a heavy duty large lock.. The Chain is heavy and very thick so it may not work for all RVs but it was an inexpensive way to wheel lock our RV since we already had a heavy duty shielded pad lock.

Using this and a puck lock for my generator! I won’t need to worry about it walking away while at a camp site

19 links, 20 if you count the ring. the sleeve can be made to cover 13 of them. whole thin dimensions of each link: external: 44x75mm internal: 20x52mm dimensions of ring: external: 75mm internal: 51mm the hexagonal stock used to make the links is about 12.5mm across the flats, 19mm across the points. the innermost and outermost circumferences are flats, not points. A real beefy chain, 3kg on the dot. pretty sure no bolt cutters are getting through these, and probably a couple minutes with an angle grinder. its pretty much guaranteed to not be the weakest link of your security system, so make sure you get some good locks to go along with it, and use them properly to secure as much of your bike as you can. A nice feature of the cinch design is that its easy to use multiple locks, as each one only has to go through one link somewhere on the chain. Ideally, use locks that are each vulnerable to different kinds of attacks. Really good value for money, compared to the big brand names.

This is a very high quality product. The links are totally impervious to a hacksaw and file, and 15 seconds of angle grinding only made the most minor of abrasions. I bought this for chaining a small safe to my steel bed frame to make it harder to walk off. Sawing apart the steel bed frame will definitely now be the easiest way to walk away with my safe. The cinch ring is a great feature. The chain is honestly way overkill for my task but I couldnt find a smaller chain with the cinch ring, which I wanted. Cyclists: Get a smaller chain... this is way too hefty for your purposes. Would be good for motorcycles in very high-risk areas.

Holy Cow! I read the specs on this chain but did not fully appreciate the heft of it until it arrived. We have had our kayaks stolen twice from our dock and decided enough was enough. We added this chain (and a couple of cable locks) to them and just the appearance of it is enough to ward away the bad guys. No problem putting very large padlocks through the chain -- the links are enormous. The cinch/loop link at one end means you only need a lock on one end, although for maximum usage of the full length you may want to use locks on both ends. Five feet sounds long, but it gets short once you wrap it around a post. I will try to remember to update this review after a few months to describe the chains ability to withstand the elements since it is sitting on a dock on a saltwater river.

There is no such thing as an unbreakable lock or chain to a determined thief equipped with the right tools. That being said, one of the best theft preventions we can do is to secure our properties/bikes using the toughest chain/lock combination we can get that also looks intimidating enough to discourage these criminals from selecting our bikes as a target. In my opinion, this 12mm Schlage cinch ring security chain ticks both tough and intimidating. The rings on this chain are made of hardened steel with hexagonal shape to make it hard for bolt cutters from getting a grip. One thing to keep in mind is this chain is heavy. Weighing in at 10 pounds for the 59-inch, this isnt something Id be carrying around. I bought the 59-Inch version to secure my mountain bike on my truck. Its for those bike trips that sometimes I end up parking and leaving the truck for a while at a public place. I thread the chain from behind and through the tow hitch, the diameter of the cinch-ring is too big to fit inside the hitch therefore preventing the whole chain from sliding through. I then secure the bike frame on the other end of the chain with a 9x12 On-Guard Pitbull U-Lock. If these thieves are able to get past through that Schlage/On-Guard combo without getting caught, then they probably deserve the bike. That or they steal the whole truck.

I use this chain to lock up my mountain bike. I dont have any worries about anyone cutting through it (without power tools). Although realize this is not a very portable chain. Id be hard pressed to put it on my bike and take it anywhere, unless I was in a high-crime area.

At 6 pounds 12.3 ounces measured on my kitchen scale which is accurate to 1/10 of an ounce its a hefty chain. The links are 6 sided which is suppose to require a greater amount of pressure to break the chain with a bolt cutter because the pressure of the bolt cutter blades are spread over a broader area unlike round links. Each link is 12mm side to side measured with my micrometer which is accurate to 0.001 inches which I then converted to mm. The measurement in inches was 0.474 inches so its not quite 1/2 inch although its advertised as 1/2 inch. The chain does measure 39.5 inches in length including the cinch ring. My criteria in purchasing a chain was to have something that would most likely deter anyone wanting to steal my bicycle. The name of the game is deterrence. No lock or chain is full proof. Most thieves just want to get in and out quickly. They want the easy job, not the job that requires a lot of effort unless the pay off is also great. I decided that the minimum diameter of each link would be 12 mm after watching many Youtube videos and researching the cost of chains that are larger in diameter but of course would also weigh more. Twelve millimeter thickness seems to be the minimum thickness that requires the largest bolt cutter and is still nearly impossible to break. Its amazing how much more the chains weigh with just a small increase in diameter. I have not tried to cut this chain with a hack saw nor have I tried to break it with a bolt cutter. I did find a video by a chain manufacturer trying to break their own chains with a very large bolt cutter leveraged against the ground using his full body weight. He couldnt break the chain. Given enough time Im sure you can cut through this with a hack saw but again the thieves want to be out of there quickly. You can find a cordless angle grinder being used to cut through a 12mm chain in less than 2 minutes because it takes 2 cuts to release the chain. No chain will stop an angle cutter. You cant stop everyone. You can only deter the majority. If someone wants what you have bad enough they will have the determination to find a way to steal it. Deterrence is the name of the game. I also purchased a Kryptonite Evolution series 4 U-Lock to lock the chain and will post a review of it. Its not about the destination, its about the journey.

Solid, long enough to secure bike. Best use _ stationary security in medium security area, perfect to secure to the car bike rack . A BIT TOO HEAVY TO TAKE WITH YOU if you are riding light weight expensive road bike, but may be OK for e bike or gravel bike with a luggage rack . This chain is resistant to hand held boltcutter, BUT NOT grinder.

This product is an effective product. The product does not give you any slack. Its so thick that by the time you wrap one end around your motorcycle wheel, you have used a foot, and by the time you wrap the other end around a stationary object, you will need to be up against the stationary object. Using it the way I describe, you will need two sturdy locks which will cost another fifty bucks at least. In other words, the products relatively short length of five feet restricts the versatility of the product. Kryptonite makes a floor locking mechanism which would work well with this product. It cost seventy bucks and it requires some skill to install it in concrete securely. There is a good YouTube on how to install it, which I think is posted by the manufacturer on the amazon site.
