> 3 dayCinch ring feature is nice for many applications. Buyer needs to allow extra length allowing for chain used securing both the cinch end and the lock end.

> 3 dayWow, this thing is pretty awesome. And heavy. Not Pewag or ABUS hardness (what is?), but certainly good enough to deter most all bad guys. I really like the moveable sleeve that allows access to links up the chain. Gives me a super tight fit using my Stanley padlock against the Cinch Ring. My application is to protect RV components, and I think it works great. Very reasonable price for the quality received.

> 3 dayIf a thief wants something bad enough, he’ll be prepared enough to get past any security so I look at this as a theft deterrent but a darn great one! A thief is going to look for the weakest place of entry & this chain ain’t it. I combined it with a super high quality lock with a low, well protected shackle, giving no room for bolt cutters. I have a long & shorter version of this chain & love the cinch ring - it works great for my purposes. I watched demos online of people trying bolt cutters on it & it passed the test easily. I used to cut rebar way back when with high quality bolt cutters & this chain would be a female dog to cut! If a thief wants it he’ll have to torch it off.

> 3 dayThis chain, along with a suitable lock, may very well draw the attention of a thief. Whatever one might secure with this beast must be of value and importance. Hopefully however, the bad guy will look at his bolt cutter, grinder, bottle jack or pry bar and realize he needs something bigger... and move along towards easier prey.-

> 3 dayThis is really a good security chain. Cant see anyone getting through this easily. It is, however, quite heavy. This really doesnt make it very portable. I use it to secure the bikes to the rack on my truck for overnight stops. Cant imagine carrying this with me on a ride anywhere.

> 3 dayThe 39-inch version is 7lbs, not 5lbs as claimed. I am not a welder but the welds look okay to me.

> 3 dayThis chain is very beefy and is too heavy to carry on your person. It is best stored wrapped around the bike frame. Only a very determined and well equipped bike thief that happens to be carrying a blow torch might be able to cut this chain. The chain cover that it comes with is a little short in length and exposes some of the chain links. A used bike inner tube fits perfectly to cover the exposed links and prevents damage to the frame.

> 3 dayThere is no such thing as an unbreakable lock or chain to a determined thief equipped with the right tools. That being said, one of the best theft preventions we can do is to secure our properties/bikes using the toughest chain/lock combination we can get that also looks intimidating enough to discourage these criminals from selecting our bikes as a target. In my opinion, this 12mm Schlage cinch ring security chain ticks both tough and intimidating. The rings on this chain are made of hardened steel with hexagonal shape to make it hard for bolt cutters from getting a grip. One thing to keep in mind is this chain is heavy. Weighing in at 10 pounds for the 59-inch, this isnt something Id be carrying around. I bought the 59-Inch version to secure my mountain bike on my truck. Its for those bike trips that sometimes I end up parking and leaving the truck for a while at a public place. I thread the chain from behind and through the tow hitch, the diameter of the cinch-ring is too big to fit inside the hitch therefore preventing the whole chain from sliding through. I then secure the bike frame on the other end of the chain with a 9x12 On-Guard Pitbull U-Lock. If these thieves are able to get past through that Schlage/On-Guard combo without getting caught, then they probably deserve the bike. That or they steal the whole truck.
