> 24 hourI have had a SimpliSafe home security system for over 10 years now, and have upgraded to the new system (featured here). I am *completely* satisfied with their system, including the very responsive monitoring service. When I first moved into my home, I had an ADT system installed. Their technician drilled holes in my walls in several places which are now unsightly knotholes, and ran wires all over the inside of the walls. Their service was overpriced and under-performed. The SimpliSafe system, in contrast, was a snap to install even for me, whos not very handy with tools. In fact, there are few items that really require tools at all, mostly a screwdriver and at most a hand drill for a starter hole for screws. Most of the sensors have 3M Commander strips that attach easily with no tools at all. The system communicates to the sensors by radio, and the base connects both by wi-fi and, if the wi-fi is down, by its own cell connection. Theres no need for wiring. Setup of new sensors is very easy using their secure website. The monitoring service is very responsive. For instance, the other day the smoke alarm was set off. SimpliSafe was on the phone within a few seconds of it going off to check to see if we were OK and if they needed to call for help. Their top-of-the-line monitoring service costs $24.95 a month -- half that of ADT and far superior. Its well worth the investment for having peace of mind and excellent service. SimpliSafe has extra items that are worth considering: video cameras, a video/audio doorbell, smoke and CO2 detectors, temperature and water detectors, a glass-breaking detector, and (my favorite) a smart door lock. The door lock allows you to remotely lock your door and set the alarm using a key fob, the main key pad, or the SimpliSafe app on your cell phone. Its really convenient, and the phone app lets you check to see if your door is locked (and adjust the system status) from anywhere. The door lock comes with a keypad that you can use outside (attached to the door or even in a nearby shed) that will let you open the door and disengage the alarm. That door lock has changed how we lock our house and is much more convenient than using a key. I can open the door while still in my car with my hands full of groceries. I highly recommend adding that to your order. But the system as a whole is great. This starter kit will get you on your way to a more secure home. I recommend the SimpliSafe home security system without hesitation.

> 24 hourI am in love with this system. It was so easy to set up. Literally took less than 30 minutes to get everything set up and installed. We upgraded to the $24.99 a month live monitoring, but a $14.95 live monitoring is also available or you can opt to not use live monitoring. For our needs, we preferred the $24.99 monitoring so thats what we went with, but its far from being a requirement. The hub has a battery backup option and a cellular backup, so if someone were to try to break in when the power goes out or were to cut your lines youd still be secured for up to 24 hours. We have a very large 5 bedroom home and the hub has no problem reaching all areas of the home even though we put it by the front door. It still reaches the opposite end and all corners of the house. The setup is extremely easy as is operation. It also came with a yard sign and window stickers, which are an additional benefit and an added deterrent. We were paying ADT over $70 a month. For $24.99 we get the same level of protection with this company and the equipment is just as good if not better. Highly recommend.

> 24 hourThis company built an adequate system at an apparently competitive price. However, the system basically does not work without the monitoring service. The keypad is extremely basic, with only a 4-digit security code. So you need the app, in order to do anything -- check all sensor status, get alerts. But the app is only enabled if one buys the monitoring service, which is $19 - $24 / month, plus an interactive app fee. The entire proposition ends up being way more expensive -- and inappropriate for many cases. We were simply looking to monitor the exits on our home and hopefully set up some basic automation. It worked beautifully until today when the cat turned on the Home program, and suddenly we received a service call asking for a safety word I had never setup (because... I never set up the monitoring to begin with!). Since I could not produce it, they sent the police to my home -- even though they state that they will not do so, and even though they had already talked to both me and my spouse, on both phones registered with the app. The monitoring call had poor communication (what would we do if we had in fact needed help?) and then the call to the technical support to understand how the monitoring was triggered was unhelpful, after having to wait twice for 10+ minutes on a call, as they were gathering facts about their own service. I finally spoke with a supervisor, who abruptly disconnected from the call the moment it became clear the system was not going to work for us. Even if I needed the service, this is not the level of care I would feel comfortable with. So now I need to dismantle 12 entry sensors and a motion sensor and return, incurring a restocking fee. (I did not purchased on Amazon). The hardware is ok, range seems sufficient for our small split-level home, with sensors set on 3 levels. That was the selling point -- no repeater. However, the keypad is fairly useless and the service is really struggling. They have some work to do.

> 24 hourThis is a fantastic easy to setup wireless home security option. PROS: * Our house wasn’t pre-wired for a security system, so this was a perfect solution. * love the fact system and alarm can be used with or without monitoring, given the reviews that say the monitoring isn’t the best * super easy to set up each sensor and then edit it if necessary * entry sensors work very well with about 2in of error, which came in very handy with our think moldings * really like the key pad, it’s mobilty, and ability to change many settings CONS: * Motion sensor is horrible! This is why I gave it 4 stars not 5. I had to search many FAQs and reviews to find there is a sensitivity switch on the sensor itself behind the stick on wall plate. Unfortunately that didn’t help much even after turning it up to high. On high It only senses about 3-4ft out, even after “warming up” If they fix the motion sensor problem. I would recommend this product to anyone.

> 24 hourThis review is about customer service and not the Simplisafe system. I literally cannot get in touch with anyone regarding SimpliSafe. The call wait times are almost an hour and I CANNOT get anyone to email me back. This is ridiculous!
