    Simplisafe is an affordable, easy to install security system. No obnoxious sales marketing tactics. No hard wiring needed. Monitoring works with or without wifi. Working fine with just their cell signal. Took me about 15 minutes to set up the basic package. We have had a few false alarms due to our own forgetting we had the system and they called right away, even to check on us after we disarmed the system. Was a much more affordable deal than its two competitors R & V. I actually canceled V after getting conflicting, confusing text messages and practically no phone support; their installer came and tried to upsell me more product. The Simplisafe equipment looks great and is super easy to install. My only wish is that they would make an alarm detector of existing smoke alarms-as we have eight hardwired and I dont feel like replacing them. I highly recommend this system.

    I have not called tech support but it keeps telling me I have a door fault but all the doors chime when I open them. Otherwise it would be 5 stars Its been a few months and the problem above fixed itself... Works very well

    The major complaint that I have is that they advertise no hidden costs but then when you attempt to set up monitoring with notifications, you have to pay at least $9.99/month. Deceptive.

    So I’ve had Simply Safe for years they’re always updating their system. Seems like they would just give you a better one to begin with. But they updated my system and three weeks after that I was broken into. The girl who updated my new control module never updated all my contacts. So my keypads were working. However my door contacts window contacts, motion sensors, glass break sensors were never hooked up when they did the new module. She forgot to push the damn button. Three months later Simply Safe refuses to call me back refuses to pay me for any damages or items stolen from my property. Absolute piss poor customer service every time you call. You talk to the entry-level person on the phone who tells you they will contact their supervisor and get back to you 15 phone calls three months later nobody’s ever gotten back to me. Ask the phone number for their legal department so I could sue them. I was told they don’t have a legal department. What a cluster F There’s a reason why they’re the cheapest alarm system out there. They ain’t worth five dollars

    If you buy this product from anyone other than directly from the manufacturer, they will not honor any sort of warranty. I bought mine on a sale before. I actually needed one because it was a good deal. By the time I set it up, I was just passed any return date through Amazon. Initially everything was fine but very soon after I noticed issues with the base station, and issues with the alarm being set to off on its own even though I had armed it. The last issue was when the alarm suddenly went off at 3:00 a.m. Im looking at my phone to see whats going on, confused and scared, and it isnt telling me anything so I call 911. A few minutes later while speaking with the dispatcher the SimpliSafe app lets me know that the panic alarm is what was set off. The panic alarm was sitting on my desk. In a closed room. With no one and nothing inside of it. It just went off by itself, somehow the base station detected that it was set off. Off. Too many issues with reliability and also coupled with the fact that the cellular protection that this company touts will also often disconnect from the base station leaving you with zero protection if your internet isnt working. When I called the company to talk to them about the issues, I was explicitly told that because I bought it on Amazon I would have to just deal with Amazon for a return. Return. Im sorry but the fact that they wont even warranty their products that are sold on Amazon, when they definitely need Amazon as their platform for sales, just shows me what a scumbag company this is. And I wish I never wasted the money.

    This review has been edited. Have upgraded rating from 4 to 5 stars. Originally had problems with doorbell camera but after I installed the latest system software upgrade the camera is working perfectly. We recently moved into a new home and decided we needed a home security system. A friend who already has the Simplisafe system recommended it. Purchased the system directly from Simplisafe. It was very easy to install. Had to contact customer service during the install. Call was answered in less than a minute. Rep answered my question and all went well. About 1 month after installation one of the motion sensors quit working. I purchased and installed a new battery and that solved the problem. Motion sensor is still working 5 months later. I did not contact Simplisafe about the failed battery but did mention the failure in a review I wrote. Apparently someone at Simplisafe actually reads the reviews. Simplisafe contacted me and apologized for the inconvenience. They sent me 2 replacement batteries and gave me 1 month of free monitoring for my trouble. I certainly couldnt complain about customer service. I recently added the doorbell camera. Took me several tries before it would connect. It worked for about a week then quit working after I had a temporary internet outage. To get it working again I had to reset the camera via the reset button on the back and then go through the set-up procedure again. Although I have a strong WiFi signal at the doorbell location I also installed a range extender on the wall opposite the doorbell. The extender amplifies the 2.4 Ghz signal only to make sure that I get the best signal at the doorbell. So far so good. Only time will tell if it continues to work. Have read other users reviews and the doorbell camera seems to be a common complaint. Would have given the system a 5 star rating if it had not been for the camera.
