    I have used this now, monitored, for about a year. For the most part I am very pleased, but the limited range of the base unit is a problem. Some aspects of the system utilize wifi, which can be as large a range as you want with strong routers or extenders. However, certain functions require initial and ongoing connection to the Base Station, which cannot be extended (even with a second Base Station). For example, we can either connect to our front door lock or our garage door lock, but not both, depending upon where we place it. If your home is at all spread out (we have 2900 sq ft, but on three floors, so it isn’t really a huge footprint), you will want to consider this.

    We bought this in response to all the advertisements and positive reviews, but have had the opposite experience. Two of our sensors are constantly not responding and then they work again a little while later. One sensor is out of battery already a few months after buying the system. Our camera goes offline all the time and flashes a yellow light. Id spend more money on a hardwired system next time.

    Stopped using the system in March 2019. In December Simplisafe restarted the $9.99 monthly charge without explanation. I called the company and was told the service would be stopped and the $9.99 was removed from my card. The very next month Simplisafe resumed charging my card without authorization. I froze my card and ultimately replaced it because of this, and called the company again (third time) to cancel the unauthorized charges. Each time I called the company I was given different explanations as to why the charges were reoccurring including the latest, that I had three active cameras. Wrong: all three cameras have been offline since March of last year when I successfully cancelled the service. (I use a different home security company now.) What an ordeal! I have zero expectation Simplisafe will not attempt to charge me next month. Beyond the issue of being repeatedly charged for the “optional” “professional” monitoring that I did not authorize, none of the window alarms, and the motion detector ever worked at all. Buyer beware.

    if you have a warranty issue and do NOT subscribe to monthly monitoring; Simplisafe will NOT replace or repair defective devices - even if brand new!!! youll get stuck battling Amazon to replace the defective items!!! their 100% guaranty is only if you purchase directly form them!!! So while the prices for these packages are fabulous, you coud end up like me and having to spend another $87 for a replacement keypad that was delivered 33 days ago but activated less than 48 hours ago!!!!

    I have not called tech support but it keeps telling me I have a door fault but all the doors chime when I open them. Otherwise it would be 5 stars Its been a few months and the problem above fixed itself... Works very well

    So far no complaints only praises for this product. We had ADT once before and with all the sales gimmicks and hidden costs, we didn’t want to go down that road again. This system is very simple to install and use. Love the integrated app. I would definitely recommend this product.

    Physical product is fine but phone support is virtually non-existent. 35 and 45 minutes waits on two separate occasions. I purchased a smoke detector to pair with the Simplisafe alarm system and found it impossible to know whether it was paired, would trigger a fire department response, etc. We will see if they contact me by email, but so far Im disappointed with customer service.
